An Inside Look At High Point Market - Part Two

In my last post I covered the first couple of days at April Market in High Point. There was a lot more to be found in the final three days.

Monday - Day Five

More up and down, trying out upholstery pieces. We checked out a couple of art sources, and visited one of our lighting lines. We made a detour back to the Antique and Design center to revisit a couple of pieces that we couldn't get out of our minds.

This is a new chair style for Lee Industries. It is another great marriage of style and comfort. I love the metal frame. FYI, gold/brass finishes are making a comeback.

This is not your Daddy's recliner. Lee Industries has several sleek and comfortable recliners, (or relaxors as they call them).

A couple of days earlier they had one of their employees in the showroom making a chair from start to finish. I hate I missed that. I may have learned more that I could add to my previous post about quality craftsmanship to look for when purchasing your next sofa.

Look at all the padding on that arm! Your not going to feel the wood frame through that!

This was another new introduction from LEE. I love the look of this chair! It's so unique and unexpected.

How sweet are these upholstered beds? I love twin beds in a guest room, because sometimes you may have guests who don't want to share a bed. LEE's bed program has a ton of options to create the perfect size and shape for your space.

After we finished up at LEE, we headed to the Suites at Market Square. I wanted to check out this artist I had been following for a while on Instagram. His work is beautiful. We purchased the set of three larger squares for the shop.

We also brought Marilyn back to the shop.

I found a showroom full of framed quotes. I am such a sucker for quotes! My husband LOVES Jim Valvano's speech from the 1993 Espy awards. This is an excerpt from that speech given less than two months before he died of cancer.

These little stacks of cards with quotes, inspirational thoughts, and advice would make a great gift.

Tuesday - Day Six

Tuesday we visited the Hickory Chair showroom. We also checked out Drexel and Henredon showrooms. For some reason I didn't take a lot of pictures this day. I don't know why. It wasn't for lack of inspiration. Just lack of energy at this point in the game I suppose.

Wednesday - Day Seven

The final day of market. We head over to the French Heritage showroom first thing to see their new collections. I saw a lot of great new things here and took tons of pictures! They have a lunch that is not to be missed. They were serving filet mignon that day, which I never pass up, so we drove up the street to pass the time in another showroom until it was time for lunch. By the end of the day we were starting to drag a bit. A lot of people have already headed home and the exhibitors are looking very tired. By the end of the day we have lost all motivation, so we pick up a few purchases we made and head back to Winston-Salem with our treasures.

French Heritage does an exceptional job with their custom library units. They can be made fully customized as far as size, configuration and finish. I just wish I had noticed that crooked lamp shade before I snapped this pic.

This was one of my favorite items from the whole market and for the life of me I could not get a good picture of it! It is a dining table with a variegated mosaic top.

So, that does it for my recap of April's High Point Market. It took me a while to get around to finishing up this second part of my insiders look, but at least I finished before October's market! I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek. I will be sure to take a lot of pictures during the fall market.

Until next time,
